OUTRAGEOUS Insult To All Chinese Americans

On Dec. 3, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, TN, tweeted "China has a 5,000
year history of cheating and stealing. Some things will never change…”

80-20 learned about it 4 days later. The next day, we emailed and faxed
Sen. Blackburn and called her office to confirm that they've received both. 3 days ago, we called her office to urge a reply and hinted that, without a reply, we'll go public and take further action.

GOING PUBLIC: Our Email/Fax to Sen. Blackburn

Dear Senator Blackburn: We write you as citizens of this great nation. We are not
connected with any foreign nations. We, the 5 million Chinese Americans, are
outraged that you insulted our country of origin by stating “China has a 5,000 year
history of cheating and stealing. Some things will never change …” Which respected
historian or history book did you quote from, or at least get the idea from?  We’ll be
interested in knowing your reference.

If you made it up yourself, you have insulted not only the 5 million Chinese
Americans, but also the 1.45 billion people of Chinese origin on earth. The emotion
in our community is running extremely high. I've even heard wild talk about starting
a world-wide boycott of Tennessee exports, including Jack Daniels. Heaven forbid,
this kind of talk can also get China thinking about its imports from your great state of
TN which is composed of basic chemicals, chemical products, cars, agricultural
products and services.

Enraged as we are, we are for all Americans working together.  If you made the
above statement in anger or in haste, please let me know that you are withdrawing
the above-referenced statement and apologize to the Chinese American community
We are Board Members of by far the largest Asian American political organization.
We have an email list of 200,000, which can reach more than half a million Chinese
Americans to quickly smooth the emotion before it gets out of hand. That way, we can
all use our time and energy more productively.

  Sincerely yours,
  S. B. Woo on behalf of the Boards of
  80-20 Education Foundation, Inc. and
80-20 Asian American Empowerment PAC, Inc.

PS: I was Lt. Governor of DE from 1985-89. I understand that as government officials, we need to make friends, rather than enemies, and certainly NOT get our constituents into trouble.

CALL TO ACTION

If we can't get Sen. Blackburn to withdraw her utterance: "China has a 5,000 year history of cheating and stealing. Some things will never change…", then you and I will be the biggest losers. Why? Your co-workers and neighbors, together with your children's teachers and classmates may gradually come to believe that we are cheaters and thieves. Remember that she said, "Some things will never change…" So join the action!

Here are the ways to contact her office, while giving your full name, City
and State:
(1) to call: 202-224-3344 (D.C.) - the most effective;
(2) to fax: 202-228-0566 (D.C.) - the next most effective; and
(3) to email using an email message board provided by her office: Click on www.blackburn.senate.gov/email-me.

Don't write a composition. Send something short like the following. Of course, using your own words will be even more effective.

Sen. Blackburn: I & my family have been grievously hurt by your statement
emotionally & perhaps career-wise. Yet, I hesitate to advocate a boycott
against you & .... Please withdraw your statement & apologize to the 5
million Chinese Americans of this great country.  My name is xxx, City, State.

Do your share NOW! I count on YOU. Please reply to me with DONE in the subject line. When I receive 500 "DONEs", hopefully TODAY,
I will call her to reason as fellow Americans. Without satisfaction, we'll take more action.

We Really Need a World-Clatss Political Org. (WCPO)!

Feel humiliated by Sen. Marsha Blackburn? Keep your chin up & ACT to build up our own political clout! We've raised $550,000 in 3 weeks. We thank all donors, including

(1) Chih-Min Tang, San Diego, CA who made a 6-fold jump from $200 per yr
for 5 yrs to $1,200 per yr. Many others doubled the dollar amount of their 5
year pledge.
(2) Wai-Yim Ching, Leawood, KS who will send us his $7,100+ remaining
pledged amount this year in his 2nd 5 yr commitment, and start his 3rd 5 year
commitment of $2,000 per year in 2021. Wow! What sacrifice & what
exceptional support!

DONATE to help establish OUR own WCPO to protect us from politicians
like Marsha Blackburn.

3)  MOST RECENTLY, on Dec. 3, 2020, when Sen. Marsha Blackburn of TN tweeted:  "China has a 5000 year history of cheating and stealing. Some things will never change...", who but 80-20 was again the FIRST to ask her to withdraw her tweet and apologize.

Getting no response, 80-20 steadily increased pressure on herFirst, 80-20 organized 550 to 1000 phone calls/faxes and emails to pour into her office asking for an apology, tying up her D.C. phone and fax lines for days. Secondly, 80-20 worked with TNCAA (Tennessee Chinese Am. Alliance) and UCA (United Chinese Americans) to buy a full-page ad in newspapers of the 4 largest TN cities exposing Blackburn’s ignorance and hatefulness and asked her to apologize.

YESTERDAYthe ad appeared on page A3 in the 4 largest TN news-papers. 2000 Tennesseans, from tens of small towns and big cities (names are bolded & underlined), signed the ad. 70% of the signers were non-AsAms. Only 1000 names were shown, owing to space limitations. 3 of the ads will be shown for 3 days. 80-20 Educational Foundation and United Chinese Ams paid for the ads (read the 3rd line from the bottom of the ad). Will these ads adversely affect Blackburn's re-election chances? Who knows? She could help herself by apologizing, immediately and sincerely.

Aren't you glad that 80-20 exists to fight for our rights and honor? With politicians like Trump and Blackburn around, we must have WORLD-CLASS Political Organization to protect our rights and honor.
